Young Guns Field Day. (Friday August 2)
A huge thankyou to everyone who took part in the Young Guns Field Day and supported our Agriculture Program at MSS. Students in years 5-10 got to experience a day in the life of a farmer, or meat producer, as they took part in eight different rotations, each with their own focus on the Agricultural industry.
The rotations included stands from:
Waratah, Gallagher, Zoetis, TGB Agriculture, AgForce, TruTest, Bayer and Queensland Ambulance Service.
Some examples of activities included; putting up the new Waratah fence, flying mini drones, drafting and weighing sheep, practicing immunising stock, learning about quadbike safety and also learning how electric fence worked. Thank you to Taylar Newman and Samios for helping the day come together.
Justin O’Conner (TGB Agriculture) was kind enough to donate a drone on the day to be given to a student who displayed all the attributes on a ‘Young Gun.’ That student was chosen out of a raffle by all the reps and was Maddison Webber.
MSS would also like to thank the following families and business who have contributed to our Ag block so far:
,
Mitchell Show Committee,
Elders Mitchell,
Landmark Mitchell,
J&J Earthmoving
Hartley Grazing (and Daniel and Michelle Mcinnerney)
Kerry and Karleen Hungerford
Bruce and Angela Smith
