Mi Kitchen Garden, MiKG, is based on the philosophies of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Philosophy of “grow, harvest, produce, share”.

Lessons are delivered weekly and enables skill-based learning that extends across the entire school curriculum. This program is fully integrated into the school curriculum as it offers infinite possibilities to reinforce literacy, numeracy, science, health, technology and more.

The aim of MiKG is to introduce pleasurable food education into schools. The program emphasises the flavours as well as the health benefits of fresh, seasonal food. The long term goal of this project is for a community garden in the town of Mitchell.
